10.06.2010 - COLLABORATION WITH PIANO VIRTUOSO IIRO RANTALA; RUISROCK PERFORMANCE BROADCAST ON FINNISH NATIONAL TV
Turisas will be featured on a Finnish TV show Iiro irti ("Iiro Unleashed") by renowned pianist and TV personality Iiro Rantala. Each episode will show Rantala, a well-known Finnish crossover musician with roots in jazz, taking part in performances by bands and artists of various genres. Turisas was asked to show Rantala how to put up a proper metal show, while the other episodes feature Finland's top artists from blues, schlager, rock and chamber music genres. Rantala will join Turisas onstage in Ruisrock, Turku on Saturday 10 July (Main Stage, 13.45-14.45) and the performance will be broadcast on 15 August on Yle Teema, a channel of Finnish National TV.

10.06.2010 - TURISAS MUKANA IIRO RANTALAN UUDESSA TV-OHJELMASSA; RUISROCKIN KEIKKA TELEVISIOIDAAN
Turisas on mukana pianovirtuoosi Iiro Rantalan uudessa TV-ohjelmassa Iiro Irti, joka kuvataan tänä kesänä. Jokaisessa jaksossa Rantala, joka tunnetaan muun muassa jazz-yhtye Trio Töykeiden perustajana, liittyy eri artistin keikalle bändin ulkojäseneksi musiikkityylien vaihdellessa metallista kamarimusiikkiin. Turisasta pyydettiin mukaan näyttämään kuinka rakennetaan kunnon metallishow; muissa jaksoissa Rantala nähdään lavalla muun muassa Eino Grönin, Erja Lyytisen ja Eppu Normaalin kanssa. Rantalan ja Turisaan yhteiskeikka kuvataan Turun Ruisrockissa lauantaina 10. heinäkuuta (Niittylava 13.45-14.45) ja se nähdään Yle Teemalla 15. elokuuta.

22.04.2010 - TURISAS AUSTRALIAN DATES NOT CANCELLED!
You may have seen an announcement by JSR that the Turisas Australian tour is cancelled. The truth is that they have gone bust and have pulled out of all their commitments, including our tour.
However, we are not willing to give up so easily, and are currently in negotiations with another promoter to save these shows and continue with the tour as planned. We are doing everything we can to make this happen. Everyone who has tickets already should hold on to them until further notice.
We will keep you updated, and please note that the only official word on this tour will come from us - ignore anything else you may hear!

13.04.2010 - TURISAS TO PLAY IN CHINA IN MAY
Turisas will perform in China for the first time in May: the band will play three gigs on 25–27 May in Beijing and Shanghai in connection with Shanghai World Expo 2010. The band is excited about this rare opportunity and is highly looking forward to the shows.

26 May – Helsinki Festival, Mao Livehouse, Shanghai
27 May – Europe Square Stage, Finland Day, Shanghai World Expo Area
Helsinki Festival shows w/ Stratovarius, Negative, Before The Dawn
The Expo will be held in Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010 and is a scheduled World Expo in the tradition of international fairs and expositions. The theme of the exposition will be "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as a major economic and cultural center . It is expected to generate the largest number of visitors in the history of the world's fairs in terms of gross numbers.
In addition to the newly added Chinese shows, Turisas has already earlier announced a row of tour dates in Australia and Japan. The complete tour is as follows:

Due to the high request TURISAS’ debut album “Battle Metal” is now finally (and for the first time ever!) available on vinyl. Please note that the LP version is worldwide limited to only 400 of which 200 copies include solid gold vinyl, another 100 copies include transparent yellow vinyl and the remaining 100 copies include solid red vinyl. All versions comes on 180g virgin vinyl with full colour labels, full colour printed inner sleeves (with all lyrics) and sleeves on matte heavy cardboard. Get it now or NEVER!!!!

In the scope of Century Media’s annual METAL FOR THE MASSES price campaign, “Battle Metal” is released as a special collector’s box set. The box is made of solid cardboard and contents the album on LP (black 180g virgin vinyl, full colour labels, full colour printed inner sleeves with all lyrics and sleeves on matte heavy cardboard), the CD version of the album (CD in plastic sleeve) as well as the “Battle Metal” shirt (two-sided full colour print). 21.03.2010 - TURISAS - FIRST CONCERT IN JAPAN IN MAY
Turisas will play in Japan for the first time in May: the band will perform at Finland Fest 2010, 29 May in LiquidRoom, Tokyo. The event is titled Metal Attack and will also feature other Finnish acts Tarot, Poisonblack and Before The Dawn.

09.03.2010 - TURISAS ENTERS STUDIO TO RECORD THIRD ALBUM; STUDIO DIARY ONLINE
We have begun work for our upcoming third album in Sound Supreme studio, Hämeenlinna, Finland – the same studio where we recorded the previous album "The Varangian Way". The new album, successor to the renowned records Battle Metal (2004) and The Varangian Way (2007), is due to be released still later this year. Vocalist, songwriter and producer Mathias Nygård comments:
“After a nine-month break from touring to be able to fully focus on songwriting, we've finally moved forward and have now started recording. It's going to be a long project, and keep us busy all the way until the break of summer, but believe me, the wait will be all worth it. With three years between albums, there's been enough of time to find a fresh angle and new ideas not to repeat ourselves or albums we've done in the past. The songs rock big time, but the epic elements aren't going anywhere – it's going to sound larger than ever before. The leap forward is going to be just as big as between Battle Metal and The Varangian Way. “

TURISAS ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Ask and ye shall receive – after so many requests, TURISAS is finally doing the band’s first tour in Australia. Fresh from the studio, the band is coming for three gigs at the end of May. Warlord Nygård comments:
"Fucking hell! It's finally happening. We've been asked to take the trip to the complete opposite side of the globe for a long time, but for a reason or another it's never been possible. I don't need to tell you how excited we are about finally making it. We've heard rumours about a strong following down there, so now it's time to show us what all that is about! We're taking a break from the studio and the recording of our forthcoming third album to spend less time in your country than it takes us to travel there, so the expectations are high. We for our part will most definitely be bringing you a show with all the extra energy piled up from a year off the road. We're hungry, we're determined, and we're ready. We sure hope you are too!"

15.01.2010 - TURISAS - one of Terrorizer’s "Artists of the Decade" - Battle Metal among "100 Great Albums"
Finnish battle metallers TURISAS are part of Terrorizer’s Secret History Of The Decade, a special issue of the British magazine providing an essential guide to extreme metal from 2000 to 2009. It goes through the last ten years' biggest musical movements including the most essential albums and artists.
Among some of metal scene's most legendary acts, Turisas was chosen as one of the eight Artists of the Decade and the band's 2004 debut album Battle Metal made it to the 100 Great Albums of the decade.
TURISAS vocalist Mathias “Warlord” Nygård states:
"Wow. Being honoured like this by one of the absolute top metal magazines in the world is quite something. Doing well in end-of-the-year-summaries is amazing in itself, but out of a whole DECADE...
